Rep. Shaw honored by American Association of Nurse Practitioners


State Rep. Jason Shaw (R-Lakeland) has been selected to receive the 2013 State Award for Nurse Practitioner Advocate, presented by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners to recognize the efforts of individuals who have made a significant contribution toward increasing the awareness and acceptance of nurse practitioners.

During his first three years as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, Shaw has worked on various measures affecting nurse practitioners and has been successful in bringing representatives of various healthcare providers and professional viewpoints together to craft and adopt meaningful legislation that will enhance access to affordable healthcare in rural Georgia.

The American Association of Nurse Practitioners represents the interests of approximately 157,000 nurse practitioners across the country, providing a unified networking platform and advocating for their role as provides of high-quality, cost-effective, comprehensive, patient-centered and personalized healthcare.
